Trees sway & branches rustle. Afternoon light streams through the window. You’ve escaped & are ready for the adventures that await. But ever so slow, first you must catch your breath & nourish your soul…
Anglesea is such a special part of the world. A place my family has been coming to since the 1940’s and at times it feels like nothing has changed. You can explore the nearby Otway National Park and discover areas completely untouched. Or wander down to the stunning coastline of Anglesea beach and beyond.
We designed Moonliters as an extension of our restaurant, Captain Moonlite. It was a way for us to share our hospitality beyond the confines of the restaurant floor. And even though we closed the restaurant in 2020 we continue to welcome guests to the cottage. We have fitted the kitchen with everything you might need to cook your way through your stay. The stocked pantry has plenty of essentials; olive oil, condiments, a full spice selection, plus rice, pasta and grains. We’ll also take care of your breakfast, with a loaf of local bread, milk, butter & granola. For those wishing to bake, you’ll find cake tins, blind baking grains, and a kitchenaid can be hired on request. To complete the foodie experience you’ll find a curated selection of cook books in the home (some even signed by the authors themselves). And if you look really close you’ll even find some of Matt’s recipes amongst the pages.
The 1960’s 2 bedroom weatherboard cottage was built by one of the founding members of the Anglesea community and lovingly renovated by Matt and I.
It is now an ideal getaway for 1-4 guests. A place to relax and un-wind. Read a book in the free-standing bath, drink wine and play puzzles. Or venture out to explore the Great Ocean Road, one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world.
